Support and care while suffering illness

Palliative Care strives to improve the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with a life-limiting illness which is not responding to curative treatment.

Very frequently, the client will be receiving treatment in their residence or other place of preference, in accordance with their wishes. Having competent and caring care workers in place can also mean that discharges from hospital can occur sooner.

Our care workers work with the client’s family and frequently in conjunction with specialist Primary Healthcare Professionals to ensure that the client is looked after and made as comfortable as humanly possible while receiving vital care and support in the end stages of life.

As part of this holistic team of care and support, our dedicated care workers focus on tasks such as personal care and grooming, continence management and changing the bed out, manual transfers (when and if possible), meal and drink provision and also being a reassuring human presence.
